ABSTRACT

Chinese materia medica powder (CMMP) is an important intermediate in the preparation of Chinese materia medica (CMM). Sterilization of CMMP is an essential key operation unit, which directly affects the safety, effectiveness and quality stability of CMM. In this paper, the applications, characteristics, important status and the necessity of sterilization of CMMP were summarized, and the classification, advantages and disadvantages and application of existing sterilization technology of CMMP were systematically analyzed from the perspective of sterilization rate, physicochemical and biological evaluation, and chemical residue, so as to further improve the evaluation system of sterilization technology of CMMP. Only by combining the characteristics of CMMP, adopting a multidimensional quality evaluation and selecting appropriate sterilization methods, the internal quality and sterility of CMMP after sterilization can be guaranteed.

ABSTRACT

Chinese materia medica (CMM) powder has poor mobility, hygroscopic, viscous and easy reunion because of the complex physical and chemical properties. In recent years, pharmacy workers used domestic and foreign reference materials, chemicals, drugs and other chemical powder modification technology to improve the physicochemical properties of CMM powder, and have made some progress. This article summarizes the common modification technology and equipment of CMM powder, puts forward the basic ideas and the development prospects of CMM powder modification.

ABSTRACT

Powder is the basis of solid preparation in Chinese materia medica (CMM), its properties have a great effect on the following preparation technology and its quality evaluation. Exploring the method for the powder modification technology is the key issues in pharmaceutics, due to the complicated and unusual physicochemical properties of CMM powder. Nearly ten years, tough and fruitful work has been carried out in this field. On the basis of other experts' achievements and their work experience, this paper reviews the modification technology for CMM powder initially, so as to promote the development of powder modification technology for CMM.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To establish the fingerprint of Lonicera japonica superfine powder with different polarity and study its correlation of antibacterial activity. Methods: Six different polarity extracts were obtained using the solvent system extraction and then were detected by HPLC with gradient elution. Pharmacological activities were detected by antibiotic indexes in vitro. The correlation between the pharmacological indexes and the information of HPLC fingerprint was discovered by multiple linear regression analysis and compound groups related to pharmacological indexes were obtained. Results: Antibacterial effect fingerprint of L. japonica can be established by HPLC fingerprint of ethyl acetate fraction. Conclusion: The method developed is practical and can be used for evaluating the quality control of L. japonica powder.
